Overview

Your internet connection underpins email, cloud applications, hosted desktops and business phone calls. PCX IT works with uCall to help you choose suitable business connectivity, then brings our networking experience to the routers, switches and Wi-Fi inside your premises.

We start with your address, your team and what you need the connection to do. Full fibre, dedicated leased lines and other business broadband options have different availability, installation requirements and service terms. We explain those differences and review the complete route from the incoming line to the desks that rely on it.

How we can help

How we deliver business fibre and connectivity

Full fibre broadband (FTTP)

Fibre to the premises brings a fibre connection directly to your building. We can check the available options with uCall; speeds and installation depend on your address and package.

Dedicated leased lines

For businesses with more demanding connectivity needs, explore a dedicated connection. Bandwidth, service commitments, installation costs and lead times are agreed in the quote.

SoGEA and alternative broadband

Where full fibre is not available, review suitable alternatives. SoGEA delivers broadband without a traditional phone-line service; it is not the same as full fibre.

Business routers and resilience

Choose an appropriately configured router and consider a separate backup connection or mobile failover. Availability, equipment and ongoing costs are reviewed first.

Network switches and cabling

PCX can design and configure managed switches, tidy up cabling and consider Power over Ethernet for compatible phones and wireless access points.

Business Wi-Fi and office moves

Plan coverage, separate guest and staff access, and coordinate the network with your incoming connection when moving or expanding your premises.

  • Teams moving premises or needing a more resilient connection

Common questions

Questions we are asked about this

Can we get full fibre at our business address?

Availability varies by address and network. Contact PCX with your premises address and we can review the options with uCall. We will not promise a speed or installation date before those checks.

What is the difference between FTTP and a leased line?

FTTP is full fibre broadband delivered to the premises, generally using shared provider infrastructure. A leased line offers dedicated connectivity with contract-specific bandwidth and service commitments. The right choice depends on your needs and budget.

Will faster broadband fix our Wi-Fi?

Not necessarily. Poor access-point placement, congested wireless channels, cabling or an unsuitable switch can still cause problems. PCX can review the office network as well as the internet connection.

Can you help us move office or change providers?

Yes. We can help plan connectivity and networking for the new premises or provider. Installation, existing contract dates and any number transfers need checking before you cancel an old service.
