That's why we're introducing our FREE Community IT Health Check. On the first Friday of each month, we aim to set aside time to help local residents understand their computers a little better.

What's included
What does the free health check include?
Our friendly IT team will remotely connect to your computer, with your permission, and carry out a basic review. Depending on your computer and the available time, this may include:
Computer specifications
Review your processor, memory (RAM), storage and Windows version.
General performance
Look for obvious reasons why your computer might be running slowly.
Storage health
Check available disk space and identify possible storage limitations.
Windows updates
Review whether Windows appears up to date.
Security overview
Check basic security settings, antivirus status and Windows security notifications.
Startup applications
Identify applications that might be slowing down startup.
Upgrade advice
Explain whether additional memory, faster storage or other improvements might be worthwhile.
General recommendations
Give you straightforward advice about keeping your computer healthy.
This is a basic visual and software-based assessment, not a full diagnostic inspection, repair service, security audit or guarantee that the computer is free of faults or malware.
After the check
What happens after the check?
At the end of the appointment, we'll explain our findings in plain English.
We'll let you know whether your computer appears to be in reasonable condition, whether anything needs attention, and whether any upgrades might improve its performance.
If we recommend any work, you are welcome to take your computer to any repair shop or IT provider of your choice. You can also ask PCX whether we can help, but there is absolutely no obligation.
Our advice is free. What you do with it is entirely up to you.
